We were married at the Toronto Airport Hotels and had our reception at stagewest Room on Friday, October 2, 1981. It was the best day of my life with the worst weather I have ever had in early October. It actually was snowing when we left on our honeymoon. While they were unable to reproduce the snow, they got the cold and rain perfect.
Since then, the Toronto Airport Hotels has done an amazing job in integrating a 5 star hotel and restaurant into the ruins of the original Grist Mill. Our suite was sized well with 10-12 foot ceilings. It made everything look bigger. Staff were attentive and friendly.
We had a restaurant package booked in Toronto Airport Hotels and the folks there really treated us well. The restaurant decor is bascially a Tudor era Hunting Lodge. If your family has been living in Toronto and not been to Brunch there, the male side of your family is showing up in Wikipedia under CHEAPSKATE. We were there on Saturday night and had a 60's era band playing, Robbie Lane and the Disciples. While they were mainly doing 50's and 60's songs, we still enjoyed it.
If you are worried that the food matches the decor, do not. It is upscale and modern. Staff are attentive and do encourage you to stay for the evening. If you do, really enjoy yourself and stay at the Toronto Airport Hotels.
